Benefit data is compiled from official card issuer websites, cardholder agreements, and verified community resources. Each card’s benefits are cross-referenced against at least two independent sources before being added to the catalog.
We track statement credits, membership perks, and recurring benefits that have a concrete dollar value or equivalent (points, free nights). We do not track earn rates, sign-up bonuses, or temporary promotional offers.
The full catalog is reviewed quarterly. High-profile cards (Amex Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, etc.) are reviewed monthly or whenever a major product refresh is announced. Ad-hoc updates happen when users report discrepancies or when issuer announcements are detected.
Benefit templates in CreditSync are immutable and versioned. When an issuer changes a benefit (amount, schedule, or terms), we create a new version rather than editing the existing one. The old version is marked with an end date, and the new version takes effect from that point forward.
This means your historical tracking data is never altered. If you used a $200 airline credit in January and the issuer raises it to $250 in March, your January record stays at $200 and new periods reflect $250.
After a catalog update is published, existing users need to re-add affected cards to pick up new benefit versions. We plan to automate this in a future release.
Credit card issuers occasionally change benefit amounts, schedules, or eligibility mid-year. When this happens:
CreditSync is a tracking tool, not financial advice. While we strive for accuracy, benefit details can change without notice. Always verify current terms with your card issuer before making financial decisions. If you spot an error, contact us and we’ll investigate promptly.
